Wedstrijden tegen Portishead

Zoals bekend hebben we op verzoek van de Stichting Jumelage “Den Dungen – Portishead” in het weekend dat al onze pupillen in Eersel verbleven toch meegewerkt aan de organisatie van een tweetal wedstrijden tegen jongens uit Portishead. Het was een leuke ervaring voor onze “boys”, maar bovenal denken we hiermee ook onze club “internationaal” op de kaart gezet te hebben. Zowel de Engelse spelers, hun ouders en begeleiders waren enorm enthousiast over de ontvangst die we hen boden en de twee mooie wedstrijden die er gespeeld werden. Magnificant Twinning experience!!

In the weekend of May 5 and 6 the U.13 team of the Portishead Juniors Football club (boys under 13) and a team of the same age of the local footballclub RKVV Den Dungen met twice to play a friendly footballgame. On both days the weather was splendid and the matches were very good and entertaining. It was great for the spectators to be present at the matches, which both were won by the Portishead juniors (scores 0-2 and 1-2). The Portishead footballteam stayed in a Landal resort in Hapert and travelled on both days to Den Dungen. Organiser Steve Fisher and his wife Nancy were 'over the moon' by the succes of their initiative, as were all the other 42 Portishead ones , juniors and their parents. Also chairman Mari van Grinsven and coach Rien van de Broek of RKVV Den Dungen were enthusiast and gave the visiting group a really warm, hospitable and appreciated stay.
